A Look Back at Justy-Nasty’s ‘Blue’ 12-inch (RI-3004)
Today, our focus shifts to another fascinating entry from the Japanese rock archives, this time from the band Justy-Nasty. This item, catalog number RI-3004, is a 12-inch vinyl release titled “Blue.”
Formed in 1987, Justy-Nasty was a prominent band in the Japanese rock scene, often associated with the burgeoning Visual Kei movement. They skillfully blended rock, pop sensibilities, and a distinct aesthetic that defined the era.
This “Blue” release, which includes the tracks “Baby It’s Alright,” “Seventh Door,” and the title track “Blue,” is a snapshot from a pivotal time in the band’s career. This period, around 1989, saw the band make their major debut with the album “Crash” on the Polystar label. This 12-inch single would have been a key part of establishing their sound with a wider audience.
The band’s lineup at this time featured the charismatic vocalist Kenichi “ROD” Fujisaki, whose later work as the frontman for the supergroup CRAZE would make him a well-known figure in J-rock history.
This RI-3004 release is, therefore, more than just a record; it’s a key piece of history from a band that was on the cusp of major success and a document of a formative moment in the Visual Kei genre.
