Let’s spotlight the remarkable debut solo album from one of Japan’s most celebrated rock guitarists, Kenji Kitajima. This is “Zodiac,” released in May 1981 on the Blow Up label (Nippon Columbia) with the catalog number YF-7023.
Kitajima, who would later gain fame as a support member for TM Network and with his own successful band, Fence of Defense, unleashed his own musical vision on this 8-track, 12-inch vinyl LP.
“Zodiac” is a must-hear for fans of Japanese rock history due to its incredible, all-star lineup. The album features the powerful rhythm section of Jun Aoyama (drums) and Koki Ito (bass), famously known as the groove masters behind Tatsuro Yamashita.
