Let’s spotlight the explosive debut album from one of Japan’s most iconic heavy metal bands, 44 Magnum. This is their first full-length album, “Danger,” released on Moon Records with the catalog number MOON-28015. This particular copy includes the original obi strip.

Issued on December 21, 1983, this 12-inch vinyl LP marked the powerful arrival of 44 Magnum onto the rapidly growing J-Metal scene. “Danger” is considered a historically important album, credited with helping to ignite the Japanese heavy metal movement.

The album unleashes a potent collection of tracks that immediately established their signature sound: a high-energy blend of hard rock swagger and heavy metal power, driven by catchy riffs, powerful drumming, and the distinctively high-pitched, anthemic vocals of Paul Umehara.

This debut is packed with songs that became instant classics and remain staples of their live shows to this day, most notably the explosive opener “I’m On Fire” and the definitive anthem “Satisfaction.” The release came packaged with a 4-page picture/lyric insert (and sometimes a large sticker), providing a complete introduction to the band.

MOON-28015 stands as a foundational release in Japanese heavy metal history. “Danger” not only launched the successful career of 44 Magnum but also remains a quintessential example of the power and excitement brewing within the scene during that pivotal era.
