A Fierce Farewell (For Now): Loudness’ ‘Jealousy’ EP (P-6268)
Today’s focus is on a powerful mini-album from Japanese metal legends Loudness. We’re looking at their 1988 EP, “Jealousy,” released in Japan on Warner-Pioneer Corporation with the catalog number P-6268 with obi.
This 12-inch vinyl EP arrived after their “Hurricane Eyes” album and holds a significant place in the band’s history. “Jealousy” features six tracks delivered entirely in Japanese, showcasing the classic lineup’s potent heavy metal sound, filled with powerful riffs, complex solos, and driving rhythms.
Crucially, “Jealousy” marks the final studio recording featuring the original vocalist before his departure from the band later that year (though he would eventually return). This lends the EP a unique historical weight, capturing the end of a major chapter for the band.
P-6268 is an essential release for Loudness completists, capturing the original lineup’s potent chemistry on the vocalist’s last studio outing of that era, delivered entirely in their native language.
