Building Momentum: Show-Ya’s ‘Immigration’ (RT28-5023)
Today we spotlight the third studio album from Japan’s iconic all-female hard rock powerhouse, Show-Ya. This is “Immigration,” released in 1987 on the Eastworld label (Toshiba EMI) with the catalog number RT28-5023. Arriving after establishing their presence with their first two albums, this 12-inch vinyl LP finds Show-Ya building serious momentum.
“Immigration” further solidified their potent blend of hard rock energy and strong melodic hooks. The album features the band operating as a tight, confident unit, delivering well-crafted rock anthems driven by powerful vocals, impressive guitar work, atmospheric keyboards, and a driving rhythm section. RT28-5023 is a strong statement from Show-Ya during their rise, showcasing their evolving sound and consistent quality.
