Let’s focus on the debut release from the energetic Japanese heavy metal band Action!. This is their 1984 EP, “Action! Kit 1,” released on the Philips label with the catalog number 20PL-41.
This 12-inch, 45 RPM EP served as the band’s powerful introduction to the burgeoning J-Metal scene. Co-produced by the band themselves, “Action! Kit 1” delivers a concentrated burst of their signature high-energy, straightforward heavy metal sound across its four tracks: “Action! 100,000 Volt,” “American Kiss,” “Song For The Hero,” and “Introduction.”
What makes this release truly special, living up to its “Kit” name, is the elaborate packaging. It came housed in a silver plastic outer sleeve and was packed with an incredible amount of inserts for fans. These included a double-sided poster, a poster-comic, a lyric sheet, a sticker, a fan club sheet, an official fan club card, and even a plastic comic.
