Let’s look at a crucial early release from the popular Japanese glam rock band ZIGGY. This is their mini-album “Soreyuke! R&R Band,” released on the independent Vice label with the catalog number 15EC-101. This particular copy includes the original obi strip.
Issued on July 10, 1987, this 4-track, 12-inch vinyl holds a special place in their history as it was released just before their major label debut (“In With The Times”) later that same year. It perfectly captures their raw, pre-fame energy.
The mini-album features four high-energy tracks:
A1: Soreyuke! R&R Band
A2: I Can’t Stop Dancin’
B1: Feelin’ Satisfied
B2: Burnin’ Love
These songs showcase ZIGGY’s signature blend of glam rock aesthetics, hard rock power, and pure rock ‘n’ roll swagger. The LP version is also known for its distinctive cover art, which features a large moth illustration.
For fans and collectors, 15EC-101 is an essential snapshot of ZIGGY’s indie origins, capturing the sound that would soon make them superstars. The release came with an obi and a lyric insert.
