A live document capturing Loudness at their absolute peak is “8186 Live.” Released on November 10, 1986, this 2LP set (catalog number P-6246~7) was issued by ATCO Records.

This double album was recorded during their massive “World Circuit ’86 Chapter III” tour at Yoyogi Olympic Pool, a tour which celebrated the band’s 5th anniversary. It captures Loudness right after their major international breakthrough, when they were arguably at the height of their powers.

Produced by the band, “8186 Live” is a testament to their incredible live prowess, with many fans noting the performances equal or even surpass the studio versions. The sound quality is clear, capturing the band in top form: Akira Takasaki’s guitar is sharp and blazing, the rhythm section (Masayoshi Yamashita and Munetaka Higuchi) is powerful (featuring excellent solos), and Minoru Niihara’s unique, charismatic vocals are at their peak.
