Sleaze Rock Goes Industrial: Faster Pussycat’s ‘Between The Valley Of The Ultra Pussy’ (CLO3450)

Today’s entry features a radical departure for the kings of the Sunset Strip. We are examining the 2023 Limited Edition vinyl release of Between The Valley Of The Ultra Pussy by Faster Pussycat, issued by Deadline Music with the catalog number CLO3450.

The Industrial Makeover

Originally released in 2001 following the band’s reunion tour, this album reflects vocalist Taime Downe‘s deep dive into the industrial rock scene during the band’s hiatus. Produced by Taime himself, the record reimagines the band’s classic sleaze rock anthems through a lens of electronic beats, distorted synths, and aggressive sampling.

Classics like “Bathroom Wall,” “House Of Pain,” and “Cathouse” are completely transformed, trading bluesy riffs for mechanical grooves. The album also features a cover of the KISS disco-rock hit “I Was Made For Loving You.” It is a bold experiment that bridges the gap between 80s glam and the 90s industrial sound of bands like The Newlydeads.

Limited “Purple Wax” Edition

This 2023 reissue brings this rarity back to vinyl in a striking format:

- Purple Vinyl: The album is pressed on vibrant Purple Wax, matching the neon-noir aesthetic of the cover art.
- Packaging: This copy retains the original hype sticker on the shrink wrap, confirming the limited color variant and barcode (889466345012).

It is an essential curiosity for fans, showcasing a darker, electronic side to the band’s dirty rock ‘n’ roll legacy.
