Christian Thrash Masterpiece: Deliverance’s ‘Weapons Of Our Warfare’ Picture Disc (RRCD1636)

Today’s entry highlights a seminal release in the history of Christian metal. We are examining the 2023 Limited Edition Picture Disc reissue of Weapons Of Our Warfare by Deliverance, released by Retroactive Records (as part of the “Limited Run Vinyl” series) with the catalog number RRCD1636.

The “Christian Slayer”

Originally released in 1990, this album is widely regarded as the band’s masterpiece. Fronted by Jimmy P. Brown II, Deliverance delivered a technical, aggressive brand of speed and thrash metal that drew frequent comparisons to Slayer and Metallica. The album features iconic tracks like the title cut “Weapons Of Our Warfare” (famous for its music video on MTV’s Headbangers Ball), “This Present Darkness,” and “Slay The Wicked.” It stands as a cornerstone of the white metal genre.

Picture Disc & Bonus Tracks

This 2023 reissue transforms the classic cover art into a striking Picture Disc. It also expands the tracklist with Bonus Tracks on Side B:

- “Rescue”
- A demo version of “Greetings Of Death”

Collector’s Note: Misprint

Collectors should be aware of a specific error on this pressing. While the text printed on the disc lists the final track as the “Weapons Of Our Warfare (demo),” the actual audio that plays is the “Greetings Of Death (demo).” The record comes in a clear plastic sleeve with the original hype sticker attached.
