Silver Embossed Classic: Bad Company’s ‘Run With The Pack’ (ILS-80455)
Today’s entry highlights a classic slab of British hard rock presented in a premium package. We are looking at the 1976 Japanese Promo Sample pressing of Run With The Pack by Bad Company, released on Island Records with the catalog number ILS-80455.
The Third Chapter
Released in 1976, this was the supergroup’s third studio album, following their massive debut and Straight Shooter. The album captures the band’s signature blend of blues-rock grit and melodic sensibility, featuring Paul Rodgers’ soulful vocals on tracks like the driving opener “Live For The Music,” the cover of The Coasters’ “Young Blood,” and the beloved ballad “Silver, Blue & Gold.”
Premium Japanese Packaging
This release is renowned for its elaborate presentation. It features a Gatefold Sleeve with a striking Embossed Cover on silver foil material, giving the wolf pack artwork a textured, high-quality feel. As expected from Toshiba EMI pressings, it includes a lyric sheet.
Collector’s White Label
This specific copy is a Promo Sample, distinguished by its White Labels on the disc (as opposed to the standard Island palm tree label). These copies were distributed to industry insiders and are highly prized by collectors for their rarity and audio fidelity.
