Patriotic Thrash: M.O.D.‘s ’U.S.A. For M.O.D.’ (MEGA1956)

Today’s entry celebrates three decades of crossover thrash history with a special reissue. We are looking at the 2017 “30th Anniversary Edition” of U.S.A. For M.O.D. by M.O.D. (Method of Destruction), released on Megaforce Worldwide.

The Spiritual Successor to S.O.D.

Originally released in 1987, this album served as the continuation of the path blazed by Stormtroopers of Death (S.O.D.). Frontman Billy Milano, joined by Anthrax’s Scott Ian on acoustic guitar and backing vocals (who also produced the record), delivered a relentless barrage of hardcore punk and thrash metal. The album was recorded and mixed in just four days, capturing a raw and frantic energy. It features 24 tracks of politically incorrect humor and high-speed riffs, including fan favorites like “Aren’t You Hungry,” “Spandex Enormity,” and “A.I.D.S.”

Exclusive Content

This anniversary edition offers something special for completists. It features the songs “Confusion” and “You’re X’ed” appearing on vinyl for the very first time, expanding the original tracklist.

Format and Presentation

Fitting for an album with “U.S.A.” in the title, this limited reissue is pressed on Tri-Colored Red, White, and Blue vinyl. The packaging has been upgraded to a gatefold sleeve, featuring artwork that pays homage to the original 1987 cover.

Collector’s Notes

Collectors should be aware that the catalog number MEGA1956 is synonymous with this release in databases, but there is no catalog number printed directly on the sleeve, spine, or record labels. The barcode (020286224013) appears only as a sticker on the shrink wrap.
