Greek Speed Metal Addiction: Revenge’s ‘Metal Is: Addiction And Obsession’ (FL38)

Today’s entry continues the saga of Greek speed metal with the sophomore album from the Athens-based band Revenge. We are looking at the 2012 limited vinyl edition of Metal Is: Addiction And Obsession, released on Floga Records with the catalog number FL38.

Speed Metal to the Bone

Released three years after their debut, this album finds the band doubling down on their commitment to the old-school sound. Licensed from Rata Mutant Records, the album serves as a manifesto for the traditional metal lifestyle. The band makes no apologies for their style, delivering fast riffs, aggressive vocals, and lyrics that celebrate heavy metal culture and dark themes.

The Music

The tracklist reads like a checklist for true metal fanatics. Side A kicks off with Hell Avenger (Let’s Go To Hell And There Hail To Satan) and the self-explanatory anthem Metal Rules My Life. The side concludes with Speed Metal To The Bone, a track that perfectly encapsulates the band’s musical philosophy. Side B keeps the tempo high with No Speedlimit For Destruktion and the title track Addiction And Obsession, proving that their energy had not waned since their debut.

Collector’s Details

Floga Records ensured this release stood out on the shelf with premium packaging specifications.

Format:
This is the Orange and Black Splatter vinyl LP edition of the album.

Limitation:
The pressing was strictly limited to 500 copies in total. This specific black vinyl version accounts for 350 of those copies, while a separate run of 150 copies was pressed on orange/black splatter vinyl.

Packaging:
The record is housed in a high glossy laminated jacket, giving the artwork a vibrant shine. It also includes a heavy-duty 220g inner sleeve, a significant upgrade from standard paper sleeves, designed to protect the vinyl for the long term.
