German-Japanese Black Thrash Alliance: Desaster & Sabbat’s ‘Sabbatical Desasterminator’ (KNEEL033)
Today’s entry celebrates an unholy alliance between two of the most respected names in the underground black/thrash scene. We are looking at the 2010 double vinyl release Sabbatical Desasterminator, a split album featuring Germany’s Desaster and Japan’s Sabbat, released on Kneel Before The Master’s Throne Records with the catalog number KNEEL033.
East Meets West: A Live Document
Originally released on CD in 2005, this vinyl reissue documents two distinct live performances from 2003, capturing the raw energy of both bands.
Sides A and B belong to the German commando Desaster, recorded live in Bladel, Netherlands, on June 13, 2003. They deliver a blistering set of “Teutonic Steel,” ripping through tracks like “Divine Blasphemies” and “Profanation.”
Sides C and D transport the listener to the Music Farm in Japan (recorded May 4, 2003) to witness the masters of “Harmageddon,” Sabbat. Led by the inimitable Gezol, the Japanese legends perform raw, evil versions of cult favorites like “Black Fire,” “Hellfire,” and the atmospheric “Snow Woman.”
Collector’s Details
Kneel Before The Master’s Throne Records gave this live compilation the premium format it deserved in 2010.
Format: It is a Double 12" LP set, ensuring high-quality playback for the full live sets.
Limitation: The release was strictly limited to just 500 copies.
Edition: This specific entry is the Black Vinyl edition.
This release is a perfect snapshot of the international brotherhood of underground metal, uniting the precision of German thrash with the chaotic darkness of Japanese black metal.
