The Unholy Trinity: Sabbat’s ‘Sabbatrinity’ (I.P. 058)
Delving back into the extensive catalog of Japan’s black/thrash metal legends Sabbat, we land on their album “Sabbatrinity,” carrying the Iron Pegasus Records catalog number I.P. 058.
Released in 2011 by the German underground stalwarts Iron Pegasus, “Sabbatrinity” was issued on both vinyl LP and CD formats. This release adds another chapter to the band’s incredibly prolific output, a hallmark of their decades-long career.
As the title suggests, “Sabbatrinity” likely delves into themes surrounding trinities, fitting perfectly with Sabbat’s long-established lyrical focus on Satanism, witchcraft, and the occult. Musically, listeners can expect Sabbat’s signature raw and unrelenting “Blacking Metal” style – a ferocious blend of NWOBHM-inspired riffs, thrash metal aggression, and a distinctly venomous black metal atmosphere, all fronted by Gezol’s iconic snarling vocals.
“Sabbatrinity” is another essential piece in the vast Sabbat discography, showcasing their unwavering commitment to their unique sound. For devotees of raw, old-school black/thrash metal with genuine underground spirit, this Iron Pegasus release remains a potent offering.
