NWOBHM Resurrection: Trappazat’s ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ (HRR 214)
Today’s entry excavates a lost treasure from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. We are looking at the 2012 release From Dusk Till Dawn by Trappazat, issued by the German archival label High Roller Records with the catalog number HRR 214.
Trappazat was a band from the Wirral/Merseyside area that was active during the early 80s but never managed to release a full studio album during their original run. This release finally compiles their recordings, giving fans a chance to hear a band that had the potential to be much bigger. The sound is classic, melody-driven British heavy metal, often compared to bands like Tokyo Blade or early Def Leppard.
The album features catchy, guitar-driven tracks like the title cut From Dusk Till Dawn and the high-energy 1 AM D.O.A. Other highlights include Breakout and Soldiers, which showcase the twin-guitar interplay of Andrew Deans and Brian Meacham, alongside Paul Britton’s capable vocals.
For collectors, this High Roller release is a premium package. This specific entry is the Red Vinyl edition, which was limited to just 150 copies out of a total run of 500. The audio was remastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony, ensuring the best possible sound from the original source material. The package includes a detailed insert with liner notes and lyrics. Notably for error collectors, there is a misprint on the spine of the jacket which lists the catalog number as “HRR 215” instead of the correct HRR 214 found on the labels and back cover.
