A crucial reissue from the archives of Japan’s legendary Sabbat is the focus for this entry. We are looking at the 2005 remastered CD release of their 1993 album, “Disembody,” issued by the German label Iron Pegasus Records with the catalog number I.P.018.
This album captures Sabbat’s classic early 90s period, originally recorded at Soundbeat in 1993. The album was produced by the band and showcases their signature raw black metal sound, featuring the core lineup of Gezol (vocals, bass), Temis Osmond (guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Zorugelion (drums, vocals).
“Disembody” delivers a potent 10-track assault of pure black metal, featuring songs like “The Seven Crosses Of Damnation,” “Bird Of Ill Omen,” “Metamorphosis” (with guest guitar by Elizaveat), “Evoke The Evil,” and “Satanas.”
This 2005 reissue from Iron Pegasus is particularly valuable for collectors as it was remastered and includes two exclusive live bonus tracks: “Reversed Bible” and “Evoke The Evil,” both recorded live at Music Farm in August 1993, shortly after the album’s original recording period. I.P.018 stands as an essential document of Sabbat’s powerful 90s output.
