Rolling the Dice with the Pumpkin Heads: Helloween’s ‘Gambling With The Devil’ Limited Edition (VICP-63979)
Today’s entry spotlights a high-stakes release from German power metal legends Helloween. We are looking at the 2007 Japanese limited edition of their twelfth studio album, “Gambling With The Devil,” released on the Victor label with the catalog number VICP-63979. This copy comes complete with its original obi strip.
Issued on October 24, 2007, this release is a treat for collectors, presented in a deluxe digipak housed within a protective slipcase. “Gambling With The Devil” is often hailed by fans and critics alike as one of the strongest albums of the Andi Deris era, marked by a darker, heavier, and more aggressive sound while maintaining the band’s signature melodic hooks.
Recorded at the band’s own Mi Sueno Studio in Tenerife and mixed by the renowned Charlie Bauerfeind, the production is top-tier. The album features a powerful set of tracks including the spoken intro “Crack The Riddle,” the heavy opener “Kill It,” the epic “The Saints,” and the single “As Long As I Fall.”
Exclusive to this Japanese pressing is the bonus track “We Unite,” appearing as the 13th track. This upbeat power metal anthem adds significant value, making this version a definitive edition for completists.
VICP-63979 stands as a premium package capturing Helloween in top form, combining excellent musical content with high-quality Japanese presentation.
