A 7-inch single from 1979 highlights the pop-idol phase of the band Lazy. We are looking at “Ai ni wa Ai wo” (Love for Love), released on the RCA label with the catalog number RVS-1164.
This 45 RPM vinyl captures the group, which included future heavy metal legends Akira Takasaki and Munetaka Higuchi, performing polished pop songs crafted by professional hitmakers.
The single features two tracks:
A: Ai ni wa Ai wo
B: Ushinawareta Densetsu (Lost Legend)
Both songs were penned by popular songwriters, with lyrics by Tokuko Miura and music by Koji Makaino, placing this release firmly in the mainstream pop sound of the era.
RVS-1164 stands as another fascinating document of Lazy’s early career, showcasing a style completely removed from the hard rock and heavy metal their key members would later pioneer.
