A truly monumental single from Japan’s premier all-female hard rock band, Show-Ya, is the focus for this entry. We are looking at their 1989 blockbuster hit, “限界Lovers” (Genkai Lovers). This 7-inch, 45 RPM vinyl was released on the Eastworld label with the catalog number RT07-2311.
This release captures the band at their absolute commercial and creative peak. The A-side, “Genkai Lovers,” is arguably Show-Ya’s most famous and defining song. It’s a powerful, high-energy heavy metal anthem, driven by an unforgettable guitar riff and Keiko Terada’s powerhouse vocals. It became a massive hit and remains an enduring classic of the genre.
The single features two tracks:
A: 限界Lovers (Genkai Lovers)
B: What Do You Say?
RT07-2311 is an essential release for any fan of 80s Japanese hard rock, capturing the band’s signature song in its original 7-inch format. The release originally came with a lyric insert.
