A promotional 7-inch single from Japanese hard rock legends Earthshaker is the focus for this entry. We are looking at their 1987 release, “愛だけは消さないで” (Ai dake wa Kesanaide – Don’t Let Love Disappear), issued on the Eastworld label with the catalog number RT07-2005.
This 45 RPM 7-inch vinyl is a promotional sample pressing, identifiable by its white labels marked “Sample (Not For Sale).” It was released on October 5, 1987, during the band’s period with the Eastworld label, following their “Aftershock” album.
The single features two tracks, both arranged by Earthshaker:
A: 愛だけは消さないで (Ai dake wa Kesanaide)
B: Rain
The A-side showcases the band’s signature melodic hard rock style, with lyrics by vocalist Masafumi Nishida and music by guitarist Shinichiro Ishihara. The B-side, “Rain,” is notable for its music being composed by renowned keyboardist Toshio Egawa.
As a rare promotional pressing from the band’s late 80s era, RT07-2005 is a fantastic collector’s item, capturing their polished, melodic sound. The release originally came with a picture/lyric inner sleeve.
