A 7-inch single from Japanese hard rock band Bow Wow’s controversial “pop” phase is the focus for this entry. We are looking at their 1980 release, “Rainy Train,” issued on SMS Records with the catalog number SM06-54、sample pressing with white labels.
This 45 RPM vinyl captures the band deep in their exploration of a pop-rock fusion, a sound they pursued between their harder-edged 70s albums and their 80s heavy metal return. Released in May 1980, just three months after their previous single, this was part of a clear push for a mainstream hit.
