Here is a look at the third 7-inch single from the Japanese all-female rock band Show-Ya, “One Way Heart.” Released on August 22, 1986, via the Eastworld label (Toshiba EMI), this 45 RPM vinyl carries the catalog number WTP-17882.
This single captures the band during their early period, which leaned heavily into a polished, melodic pop-rock style, before they would later transition to a harder, heavy metal sound. Both tracks on the single were handled by professional songwriters.
The single features two tracks:
A: One Way Heart
B: Love Sick
Both songs were composed by the prolific hitmaking duo NOBODY, with lyrics by Masumi Kawamura and arrangements by Masashi Namba. The A-side, “One Way Heart,” was also notably used as the ending theme for the TV Asahi drama “Bunpukuchagama.”
WTP-17882 stands as a key snapshot of Show-Ya’s early, more accessible pop-rock sound, showcasing their strong melodies and performance skills within that genre.
