A rare promotional artifact from the early days of Japanese hard rock is the focus here. This is the 1977 7-inch single “Rock ‘N’ Roll Drive” by Bow Wow, released on the Invitation label with the catalog number VIH-1005. This specific copy is a white label promo pressing, distinguishing it from the standard commercial release.
The single features two standout tracks drawn from their acclaimed second album, “Signal Fire.” The A-side, “Rock ‘N’ Roll Drive,” is a high-speed hard rock anthem composed by Mitsuhiro Saito with an arrangement by Kyoji Yamamoto, showcasing the band’s driving energy and technical skill.
The B-side features “Still,” a composition by Yamamoto that is widely regarded as one of the band’s early masterpieces, offering a different, more emotive side to their sound. VIH-1005 is a highly desirable item for collectors, capturing the band’s powerful early sound in a rare promotional format.
