A truly special promotional item from Vow Wow’s international period is the focus for this entry. We are looking at their 1987 7-inch single, “Don’t Leave Me Now,” issued on the Eastworld label (Toshiba EMI) with the catalog number PRT-1210.
This 45 RPM 7-inch vinyl is a “Promotional Copy Only” and highly unique: the labels are completely white, with no artist name or song titles printed on them, making it a true collector’s piece.
This single was a key part of their push for international success. The A-side, “Don’t Leave Me Now,” was notably produced by rock legend John Wetton and, sung entirely in English, it became a hit in the U.K. The B-side features the track “Cry No More.”
PRT-1210 stands as a fascinating document of Vow Wow’s successful overseas campaign, representing a major hit for the band and a very rare promotional-only pressing from their Japanese label.
