A cult release from Japanese heavy metal purists Metalucifer is the focus today: the 12-inch maxi-single “Warriors Ride On The Chariots.” Released in 2001 by the respected German underground label Iron Pegasus Records, this vinyl (catalog number I.P. 019) is a prime example of the band’s unwavering dedication to traditional heavy metal.
This release was a limited edition, reportedly pressed in only 500 copies, making it a significant collector’s item. The maxi-single features three tracks that perfectly encapsulate their ethos:
A1: Warriors Ride On The Chariots
B1: Heavy Metal Revolution
B2: Dracula
Produced by band leader Geniezoluzifer (also known as Gezol of Sabbat) himself, the record captures the raw, riff-driven, anthemic sound that defines Metalucifer’s NWOBHM-worshipping style. Recorded in both Germany and Japan, it represents their strong connection to the international underground metal scene.
I.P. 019 stands as a potent, limited snapshot of this “Heavy Metal Hunter” band, released via their dedicated European label.
