Unleashing the Single: Loudness’ ‘Let It Go’ 12-Inch (P-3601)

Today we spotlight another key single release from Japanese heavy metal legends Loudness during their incredibly productive mid-80s period. This is the 12-inch vinyl single for “Let It Go,” released in Japan by Warner-Pioneer Corporation with the catalog number P-3601, promo/sample pressing.

Issued in 1986, this 45 RPM 12-inch single features three tracks and served as a powerful promotional tool alongside their album “Shadows of War” (known internationally as “Lightning Strikes”). The high-quality 12-inch format allowed for superior sound fidelity, showcasing the band’s potent heavy metal attack.

The A-side is dedicated to the title track, “Let It Go,” a driving and melodic heavy metal anthem sung entirely in Japanese by vocalist Minoru Niihara. It perfectly captures the classic Loudness sound of the era, featuring Akira Takasaki’s signature guitar wizardry, Masayoshi Yamashita’s powerful bass, and Munetaka Higuchi’s dynamic drumming.

The B-side offers two tracks: “Dark Desire (Instrumental)” and “Farewell (Instrumental).” These provide a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the intricate musicianship and compositional skills of the band, particularly Takasaki’s guitar work, without vocals.

P-3601 is a sought-after item for Loudness collectors, offering the Japanese language version of a key track from their peak international period, along with two compelling instrumentals, all presented on a high-quality 12-inch single format.
