Chilean Speed Metal Fury: Demona’s ‘Metal Through The Time’ (Heavy Forces 012)

Today’s entry highlights a blistering slab of old-school speed metal from one of the genre’s most dedicated underground warriors. We are looking at the 2012 limited edition green vinyl of Metal Through The Time by Demona, released on the German label Heavy Forces Records with the catalog number Heavy Forces 012.

One-Woman Metal Machine

Demona is the brainchild of the Chilean musician Tanza (Constanza Godoy Díaz), who handles the songwriting, lyrics, and much of the instrumentation. Originally released on cassette in 2011, this vinyl edition gives the album a proper format. The music is a throwback to the raw, unpolished energy of mid-80s speed metal—fast, aggressive, and fiercely loyal to the “metal way of life.”

The Music

The album is split into two distinct sides: Side Speed and Side Metal. It features rapid-fire tracks like “Pay For Your Sins” and “The Apocalypse,” featuring solos from guest guitarists like Gabrihell and Mauricio Godoy. The Spanish-language tracks “Ataque De Locura Homicida” and “Solo Existe El Metal” add a distinct South American flavor to the thrashing, capturing the intense passion of the Chilean metal scene.

Collector’s Details

Heavy Forces Records created this release specifically for die-hard collectors.
