Continuing the Rock Assault: Show-Ya’s ‘Trade Last’ (WTP-90450)
Today we explore the fourth studio album from Japan’s iconic all-female hard rock band, Show-Ya. This is “Trade Last,” released in 1987 on the Eastworld label (Toshiba EMI) with the catalog number WTP-90450. This particular copy retains its original outer shrinkwrap with the obi/sticker intact, adding to its appeal for collectors.
Arriving after their successful album “Immigration,” this 12-inch vinyl LP finds Show-Ya operating at peak power during the latter half of the 1980s. “Trade Last” continues to showcase their signature blend of powerful, driving hard rock and heavy metal, tempered with strong melodic hooks and anthemic songwriting.
Produced once again by the reliable Masanori Sasaji, the album features the band’s formidable musicianship: the commanding vocals leading the charge, intricate and powerful guitar work, atmospheric keyboards, and the tight, energetic rhythm section that anchored their sound. “Trade Last” delivers another polished and potent collection of hard rock tracks, cementing Show-Ya’s reputation as consistent hitmakers and a powerful live force.
WTP-90450 captures Show-Ya further solidifying their status as leading figures in the Japanese rock scene. For fans, “Trade Last” is another essential chapter in their prime 80s output, packed with high-energy, female-fronted hard rock, with this copy being particularly desirable for retaining its original packaging elements.
