A global phenomenon is the focus of this entry: the second studio album from Babymetal, “Metal Resistance.” Released on April 1, 2016, this CD (catalog number TFCC 86546) was issued in Japan on the Toy’s Factory / BMD Fox Records label. This particular copy includes the original obi strip.
Following their massive international breakthrough, “Metal Resistance” further established the group’s unique and groundbreaking fusion of J-pop idol music and various forms of heavy metal. Produced by Kobametal, the album is a dynamic and polished effort, showcasing a wide range of metal subgenres.
The 12-track album features the powerful vocals of Su-Metal and the screams/vocals of Yuimetal and Moametal, backed by the top-tier musicianship of the Kami Band. It includes the massive, DragonForce-collaboration anthem “Road Of Resistance,” the breakout hit “Karate,” the frenetic “Awadama Fever” (composed by Takeshi Ueda), the complex progressive metal track “Tales Of The Destinies,” and the epic closer “The One.”
“Metal Resistance” (TFCC 86546) was a huge international success, further solidifying Babymetal’s status as one of the most unique and exciting acts in modern metal. The release came in a standard jewel case with a 12-page booklet, obi, and inserts.
