Resurrecting the Teutonic Terror: Accept’s ‘Blood Of The Nations’ SHM-CD (UICE-1167)

Today’s entry spotlights the triumphant return of German heavy metal legends Accept. We are looking at the 2010 Japanese pressing of “Blood Of The Nations,” released on Universal Music with the catalog number UICE-1167. This copy comes complete with its original obi strip.

Released on September 1, 2010, this album marked a pivotal moment in metal history. It was the band’s first studio album in 14 years and the first to feature new vocalist Mark Tornillo (formerly of TT Quick), stepping in for the iconic Udo Dirkschneider. Despite initial skepticism from some fans regarding the lineup change, the album was widely hailed as a masterpiece upon release, with Tornillo’s gritty, powerful vocals and high-pitched shouts proving to be the perfect fit for the band’s revitalized sound.

Produced by Andy Sneap, the album features a crushing, modern production that highlights the return of the thick twin-guitar attack from Wolf Hoffmann and Herman Frank, backed by the rhythm section of Peter Baltes and Stefan Schwarzmann. It delivers pure, unadulterated heavy metal across tracks like the fast-paced “Beat The Bastards,” the anthemic “Teutonic Terror,” and the epic “The Abyss.”

This Japanese edition is a premium release for audiophiles. It is pressed on SHM-CD (Super High Material CD), a format compatible with standard players but manufactured with higher quality materials for improved audio clarity. The disc is housed in a high-quality digipak. Crucially for collectors, this version includes the exclusive bonus track “Land Of The Free,” bringing the total track count to 14. UICE-1167 stands as the definitive version of one of the greatest comeback albums in heavy metal history.
