Today’s entry spotlights a unique 2014 release from the Danish melodic metal veterans Pretty Maids. This is “Louder Than Ever,” released in Japan on March 12, 2014, via Ward Records with the catalog number VQCD-10362. This copy includes the original obi strip.
This album is not a standard “Best Of” nor a typical studio album. Instead, it is a “re-imagination” project featuring a mix of brand new songs and re-recorded tracks from a specific period of their history (1994-2006), covering the albums from “Scream” to “Wake Up to the Real World.” The band, featuring the core duo of Ronnie Atkins and Ken Hammer, chose to revisit songs from this “middle era” that they felt deserved a fresh, modern treatment with their current lineup and production.
