MANUEL AND THE MUSIC OF THE MOUNTAINS aranjuez, mon amour EMS80518

A powerful debut from a band of seasoned Japanese musicians is the focus for this entry: “Show Me Your Blood,” the first album from Dead Eyed Spider. Released on October 18, 2006, via Triumph Records (catalog number TRCD 003), this CD showcases a unique and mature sound. This particular copy includes the original obi strip.
Dead Eyed Spider was formed by veterans Hiroshi Sekine (guitar) and Kotaro Aoshima (bass) (both ex-Sergeant), who were joined by powerhouse drummer Louis Sesto (ex-Blindman) and, notably, vocalist Tadahiko Chida (ex-Killer Elite), hailed as a “treasure” from the Hiroshima scene.
“Show Me Your Blood” delivers a high-quality, professional, and “world-class” sound, setting itself apart from the typical melodic speed metal of the era. The 10-track album blends old-school hard rock and metal influences with a modern, heavy groove, drawing comparisons to bands like Mötley Crüe (during their vocal change era), Alice in Chains, and The Cult.
The music features heavy, crunchy, and catchy guitar riffs, groovy bass lines, and a powerful, tight rhythm section. A key highlight is the commanding vocal performance—a deep, powerful, emotional, and soulful voice that gives the band a rare and distinctive style within the Japanese hard rock scene.
TRCD 003 stands as an impressive, modern heavy rock ‘n’ roll album, showcasing the “real deal” talents of its veteran members.
