A 1980 single from the band Lazy showcases their work during their transitional pop-rock phase. We are looking at their 10th single, “Kanashimi wo Buttobase” (Blow Away the Sadness), released on the RCA label with the catalog number RVS-1210.
This 7-inch, 45 RPM vinyl is a promotional pressing, identifiable by its promo-marked labels, making it a rare find for collectors.
The single continues the band’s work with professional hitmakers, a hallmark of their early pop-oriented sound. Both tracks feature music composed by the popular city-pop artist Kingo Hamada.
The single includes:
A: Kanashimi wo Buttobase
B: Golden Gate
This release captures the band (including future Loudness legends Akira Takasaki and Munetaka Higuchi) operating within a polished pop-rock framework, just before their definitive hard rock turn later that same year. RVS-1210 is a key document of this melodic era.
