A special collector’s item from the legendary Japanese rock band DEAD END is the focus for this entry. We are looking at their 1988 7-inch EP, “Replica [首] / Worst Song,” released as a limited edition on the Major Record label with the catalog number MAJ-001.
This 33 ⅓ RPM vinyl is not a standard single but a highly sought-after compilation, gathering two rare tracks that were previously available only as limited giveaway items, both recorded back in 1986.
The EP features:
Side A: Replica [首] – This track was originally released as an 8-inch flexi-disc given away at the band’s “Deadline” album release show.
Side B: Worst Song – This track was originally the bonus 7-inch included with the picture disc version of the “Deadline” LP.
For fans of DEAD END and collectors of the 80s J-Metal/Rock scene, MAJ-001 is an essential release. It conveniently compiles two non-album tracks from their formative and highly influential “Deadline” era onto a single piece of vinyl. The original release came with a lyric insert.
